Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Primary (grades 1-2)

The Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Primary lessons are designed to supplement your existing literacy curriculum and easily integrate into 1st and 2nd-grade classrooms. When lessons are taught daily, teachers see improvement in students’ reading, spelling, and writing as they learn to hear the sounds in words.

The curriculum provides daily systematic phonological and phonemic awareness instruction through an intentional progression to focus on complex skills. Each fast-paced lesson includes embedded instructional support and modeling, differentiated instruction, opportunities to build alphabet knowledge activities, and phoneme-grapheme connections.
